Jeff Lewis Appointed to USDL Advisory Council

April 15, 2022

We are excited to announce that Keller Rohrback partner Jeff Lewis has been appointed to the United States Department of Labor Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans for 2022. The 15-member council provides advice to the US Secretary of Labor on policies and regulations affecting employee benefit plans governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). The appointment is for a three-year term as a representative of the general public on the Council.  He has specialized in employee benefits law for more than 45 years as a litigator on behalf of benefit plan participants. Jeff has also represented plans in lawsuits to recover plan assets, served as a plan fiduciary, and counseled plans and plan service providers. In addition, Jeff has taught law school courses and served as a mediator and an editor of employee benefits publications.

Lynn Sarko, Keller Rohrback’s managing partner, said that “Jeff has been a true leader in employed benefits law and the public will greatly benefit from his wisdom and judgement.”

Jeff continues to help lead Keller Rohrback’s Employee Benefits group representing employees, organizations, retirees, and people with disabilities in important ERISA and employee benefit matters.  Jeff is resident in the firm’s Oakland office but appears in courts nationwide.

Congratulations to Jeff on this prestigious appointment!
