JPML Sends VW Lawsuits to San Francisco

On December 8, a panel of federal judges consolidated and transferred the lawsuits filed against Volkswagen and related defendants to the Northern District of California, located in San Francisco. The panel chose the Honorable Charles R. Breyer, an experienced and respected judge, to oversee the litigation.

Lynn Sarko, managing partner at Keller Rohrback, noted that “Judge Breyer is an outstanding jurist, who will no doubt manage the cases efficiently and effectively.  We look forward to working cooperatively with other attorneys in the Northern District of California to serve our clients and the class.”

One of the next steps in this case will be for the Court to appoint the attorneys to lead the case on behalf of the plaintiffs. In order to continue to fight for our clients and the class, Keller Rohrback intends to apply for a leadership position. Our clients – who include law professors, doctors, environmentalists, journalists, and others – chose Keller Rohrback because they wanted to hire lawyers with a proven environmental track-record, who are committed to getting top-notch results for consumers, and have unparalleled experience litigating the most complex corporate frauds in the country. Keller Rohrback intends to pursue VW with the same dogged determination the firm showed in litigation against Enron and Exxon.
