Keller Rohrback Investigates Potentially Fatal Infections Spread Through Contaminated Operating Rooms

Keller Rohrback attorneys advise patients of potentially serious health and safety risks from surgical procedures conducted in local hospitals. Reportedly, Northwest Hospital & Medical Center and Lakewood Surgery Center have contacted thousands of patients to get tested for hepatitis B, hepatitis C or HIV. Patients that underwent surgery in these hospitals in late 2011 to early 2012 may have been exposed to these deadly diseases.

The notice was prompted by the indictment of former employee and surgical tech Rocky Allen on charges of tampering with a consumer product and obtaining a controlled substance by deceit. Mr. Allen is accused of swapping syringes and possibly putting patients’ health and safety at risk. Mr. Allen was employed in Washington at both the Northwest and Lakewood hospitals and is suspected to have engaged in similar activities potentially contaminating operating rooms in Colorado, Arizona, and California.

If you had surgery at Northwest Hospital & Medical Center between December 30, 2011 and March 9, 2012 or Lakewood Surgery Center between October 27, 2011 and December 1, 2011 you may be at risk of contracting hepatitis B, hepatitis C or HIV and should get tested immediately.

If you or a family member underwent surgery at Northwest Hospital & Medical Center between December 30, 2011 and March 9, 2012 or Lakewood Surgery Center between October 27, 2011 and December 1, 2011 please contact attorneys Michael Woerner and Mark D. Samson at 800.776.6044 or via email at consumer@kellerrohrback.com to discuss our investigation and your potential claims against the hospitals.
