You’ve likely heard that the current administration issued a punitive executive order on March 6, 2025 titled “Addressing Risks from Perkins Coie LLP” which placed sanctions on the law firm over allegations that Perkins engaged in dishonest and dangerous activities, including manufacturing a false dossier to influence elections, collaborating with activist donors to challenge election laws, and maintaining discriminatory hiring practices. The order suspends security clearances for Perkins' lawyers, reviews government contracts with them, and investigates their practices for the alleged racial discrimination.
In response to this order, 507 law firms have signed on to an amicus brief in support of Perkins and a permanent injunction on the order. The brief expresses deep concern over the order, arguing that it represents a serious abuse of power and violates fundamental constitutional principles. It states “Individuals at these firms hold a wide range of political, social, and economic views—even with respect to the representations attacked in the executive orders. But despite those differences amici are united in their support for the integrity of the adversarial system and the rule of law.” Keller Rohrback is one of the 507 firms to take that stand as a signatory to the brief.
Keller Rohrback Managing Partner, Lynn Sarko stated:
“At a time when the rule of law and constitutional norms are being tested, Keller Rohrback is proud to stand with over 500 law firms in defense of the legal profession’s independence and integrity. This is about more than one firm—it’s about pushing back against executive overreach and protecting the principles that make our democracy work. I’m incredibly proud of our team and the broader legal community for standing up together.”
