Did Goldman Sachs and Apple wrongfully charge your Apple Card, mishandle your disputes, or damage your credit by submitting improper credit reports? Learn more below:
Keller Rohrback is investigating Goldman Sachs and Apple for improper business practices related to the Apple Card. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (“CFPB”), a Federal Agency tasked with protecting consumers from unfair treatment by financial institutions, recently entered consent orders against both companies for their unfair acts relating to resolving disputes tied to consumers’ Apple Cards. Were you affected? Contact us to learn more about your legal rights.
According to filings by the CFPB, Goldman Sachs and Apple failed to process disputed transactions, meaning cardholders were held responsible for charges they did not authorize. Additionally, Goldman Sachs failed to investigate disputes submitted by customers as required by the Truth in Lending Act, and held those consumers liable before conducting an investigation. Further, Goldman and Apple marketed interest-free financing for Apple Card cardholders who used the card to buy Apple devices, but many cardholders were still charged interest. As a result of these practices, many consumers had false, negative information added to their credit reports.
The CFPB found that tens of thousands of consumers were affected by Goldman Sachs and Apple’s various unfair practices and “service breakdowns and misrepresentations” related to resolving Apple Card billing disputes.
Your rights may have been violated if:
- You’re a current or former Apple Card holder.
- Apple or Goldman Sachs refused to investigate unauthorized charges on your Apple Card.
- Incorrect information was added to your credit report after the above practices.
