Keller Rohrback announces the appointment of partner Derek W. Loeser as Co-Lead Class Counsel in the In re Wells Fargo Unauthorized Products Litigation, (No. 3: 24-cv- 01223).

The case is before the Honorable Trina L. Thompson of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, who signed the order on September 30, 2024. Derek is joined by Co-Leads Marc E. Dann of DannLaw, and Thomas A. Zimmerman, Jr. of Zimmerman Law Offices, P.C. in the class action. The KR team in this matter also includes partners Gretchen Freeman Cappio and Matt Preusch, and attorney Katherine Klein.

Plaintiffs allege that Wells Fargo unilaterally enrolled consumers in products and services that the consumers never agreed to and did not want, including accidental death insurance, identity theft protection, and home warranty policies, among others. An amended complaint asserts that “Wells Fargo’s historical unfair and illegal business practices are primary causes of its misconduct at issue.” The Court noted that within the leadership structure for the case “Each counsel has demonstrated experience handling class actions, requisite knowledge of the applicable law, and a commitment to apply their resources to the class.”

Congratulations to Derek for this distinguished appointment on an important consumer case!
