Credit reporting agency, Equifax, has announced that between March 17th and April 6th of 2022, a coding issue in a “legacy application” may have sent incorrect credit scores for potentially millions of consumers to lending agencies and banks. Were you affected?
Credit scores are used by lenders to determine a consumers’ credit worthiness and can affect the rates and terms lenders are willing to offer or whether they are willing to offer credit at all among other things.
Consumers rely on the credit reporting agencies to provide accurate information to lenders, and errors such as these can have wide-ranging impacts on how much a consumer might pay during the life of a loan, or even of a loan is offered at all.
If you applied for a loan or other credit during the three weeks between March 17th and April 6th, you may have been affected. Contact us at [email protected], 800-776-6044, or by using the secure form to the right of this page and learn more about your legal rights.
