Are you one of the millions of Facebook users whose personal data was improperly taken without your knowledge or consent? If you believe Facebook failed to protect your privacy and put you at risk for identity theft, Keller Rohrback L.L.P. would like to speak with you about your potential legal claims.
Facebook, Inc. and Cambridge Analytica allegedly violated Facebook users’ privacy policy by obtaining the private and personal profile information of Facebook users without their consent or knowledge. Facebook allegedly failed to protect users’ private information from this misuse, failed to properly notify users that their information had been compromised when it learned of the unauthorized acquisition of users’ data, and put Facebook users at risk of identity theft and further misuse.
Facebook was allegedly made aware of improper data collection in 2015 and failed to take action to stop the activity or notify users until March 2018.
Facebook allegedly allowed the collection of the personal information of millions of Facebook users, without their authorization, through the use of various applications and surveys deployed on Facebook. One such application was the MyDigitalLife application. It was downloaded by around 300,000 individuals and allegedly provided Cambridge Analytica and others access to the data of not only those individuals that downloaded the application, but also allowed access to their Facebook friends — in total, approximately 87 million additional people.
Please be aware that we do not have information about which individuals had their personal and private information compromised.
