Ford May Have Misreported Fuel Economy and Emissions Data
Ford Motor Company may have misreported fuel economy and emissions testing results, according to reports that the company has informed the Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board about an internal investigation.
Keller Rohrback is investigating these reports and monitoring how any changes in reported fuel economy and emissions data will affect consumers who currently own or lease affected Ford vehicles. Preliminary reports indicate that 2017-2019 model year vehicles may be affected, including the new Ranger pickup, per the Detroit Free Press.
According to an email from the Environmental Protection Agency published by Bloomberg, “The investigation is ongoing and the information too incomplete for EPA to reach any conclusions. [EPA] take(s) the potential issues seriously and are following up with the company to fully understand the circumstances behind this disclosure.”
