Are you worried that Google employees accessed your health data without your consent? Keller Rohrback is investigating.
On November 11, 2019, the Wall Street Journal reported that Google is working with Ascension, one of the largest healthcare systems in the United States, to collect and analyze detailed health information on an initiative called “Project Nightingale.” The personal health data, which has been collected for tens of millions of people from across 21 states, includes patient names and birth dates, lab results, doctor diagnoses, and hospital records.
Google is reportedly using this data to design new software that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to suggest changes to patients’ care. At present, at least 150 Google employees already have access to this data.
