Keller Rohrback Legal Team Included in Nomination For Nobel Peace Prize
Keller Rohrback is most pleased to announce that the legal team of the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) and former Foreign Minister Tony deBrum, have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by the International Peace Bureau.
Keller Rohrback represents the RMI in the Nuclear Zero Lawsuit that asks the Court to order the U.S. to fulfill its legal obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty to negotiate in good faith to cease the nuclear arms race, and for nuclear disarmament.
Established in 1910, the International Peace Bureau “is dedicated to the vision of a World Without War,” and has submitted its nomination because it “sincerely believes that the Marshall Islands initiative will prove to be a significant and decisive step in ending the nuclear arms race and in achieving a world without nuclear weapons.”
Laurie Ashton, who leads the U.S. litigation and is a member of the team representing the RMI at the International Court of Justice said "it is an honor to represent the people of the RMI in these important proceedings and we congratulate Tony deBrum and the entire legal team on this nomination."
