The annual Champions Luncheon fundraising event for the Treehouse for Kids nonprofit took place on April 23, 2024 at the Sheraton Grand Seattle, and KR is both proud and grateful to have participated once again as a sponsor. The live event was a rousing success for the organization, and donations are still possible for those unable to attend. (See link below.) We appreciate your interest in the ongoing relationship between KR and Treehouse, the only nonprofit in Washington state focused on the specific educational needs of youth in foster care.

KR has been a regular supporter of Treehouse and its mission to create opportunities for young people in foster care to thrive. Treehouse was founded in 1988 by a group of social workers committed to enhancing foster care outcomes. Its mission recognizes that the nearly 10,000 children in the Washington foster care system face unique challenges caused by emotional upheaval, and constant change and instability in both home and school environments. Education was identified as a vital tool that the broader community could become involved in, and this goal has driven the organization’s progress for 35 years.
KR partner Juli Farris is both a past Board Chair and Board Member Emeritus with the nonprofit, and KR legal assistant Vincent Ruiz was selected as a Treehouse Ambassador in 2023, trusted with the responsibility to grow more deeply attuned to the issues faced by foster youth, in order to better represent their interests and enhance community involvement in their welfare. Such stakes pay dividends in both directions, and the firm is proud to assist this worthy organization.
