Case Status
On April 26, 2024, Keller Rohrback L.L.P. filed class action complaints in the US District Courts for the Eastern District of Michigan and Southern District of New York against General Motors LLC, OnStar LLC, LexisNexis Risk Solutions Inc., and Verisk Analytics, Inc. The Complaint alleges that GM sold information about the driving behavior of millions of GM, Chevrolet, Buick, and Cadillac drivers without informing the affected drivers. GM sold the information to data brokers LexisNexis and Verisk. Those companies in turn marketed the data to auto insurance companies, who used it to justify insurance premium increases.
Defendants’ practices violated drivers’ consent and privacy. The complaints seek damages, disgorgement of profits, and other relief.
