Case Update
Keller Rohrback is pleased to announce that on March 23, 2022, Judge William Campbell of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee granted final approval of a settlement in the Stringer et al. v. Nissan North America concerning faulty Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVT) in 2014 – 2018 Nissan Rogues, 2015 – 2018 Nissan Pathfinders, and 2015 – 2018 Infinity QX60s. Ryan McDevitt, Keller Rohrback partner and member of the court-appointed Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee, said: “we believe that this settlement provides valuable and timely relief to class members, and are pleased that the Court has granted final approval.”

Case Overview
On March 26, 2021, Keller Rohrback and co-counsel filed suit against Nissan North America, Inc. and Nissan Motor Company Ltd., regarding faulty continuously variable transmissions (CVT) found in certain model year Rogue and Pathfinder vehicles. Plaintiffs allege that the 2014–16 Nissan Rogues and 2015–16 Pathfinders hesitate when drivers attempt to accelerate, suffer from excessive revving, jerk at highway speeds, and sometimes even stop working altogether.
Despite customers complaining to Nissan about these faulty transmissions since at least 2013, Nissan continued to build the Rogues and Pathfinders with this type of transmission for several more years. Although Nissan has issued multiple Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) to attempt to repair the vehicles, Nissan CVT transmissions in these vehicles continue to fail at an alarming rate.
Owners and lessees of the affected vehicles should not be forced to continue to drive their defective vehicles or spend their own money to fix Nissan’s mistakes.
Keller Rohrback has a track record of success in holding car manufacturers accountable for selling vehicles that don’t live up to the promises made at the time of sale. If you or someone you know owns or leases any of the affected vehicles, please contact attorneys Gretchen Freeman Cappio or Ryan McDevitt at (866) 560-4043 or via email at [email protected] to discuss our investigation and your potential claims against Nissan.
