Keller Rohrback is investigating reports that the results of several popular noninvasive prenatal genetic tests (NIPTs), trusted by parents-to-be in order to screen for certain rare genetic disorders in embryos, are frequently wrong and at shockingly high rates. According to a New York Times analysis, between 80% and 93% of certain NIPTs that show positive results are wrong.
These frequently incorrect positive tests, and their allegedly misleading marketing materials, may lead parents to seek out expensive and potentially dangerous additional testing, or even to terminate an otherwise healthy pregnancy.
Keller Rohrback is looking to speak with people who paid for NIPTs during their pregnancy. If you or somebody you know have used NIPTs to screen for genetic disorders during pregnancy and would like more information regarding this investigation, please contact attorney Alison Chase and our consumer protection team using the contact form to the right, or at [email protected] or (800) 776-6044.
